I know MLB has contracts with various companies to produce their "official" products, and I get it; I understand that MLB cannot stand over them and watch as the "product" comes off the assembly line, but... this patch really epitomizes how quality control can either make, or break a product.
You know what's sad? You would think someone intended this patch to potentially be sewn onto a $250 team jacket, or a $200 jersey... you would think. Regardless; shouldn't the quality of the patch exemplify the statement it's making? This patch, for example, "World Series Champions."
Come on, seriously, shouldn't that be a quality patch?
I don't know that I'm going to have this patch sewn on my jacket. Really, I don't.
Look closely (I didn't). See how it starts out square cornered at the upper left; makes it's way around the perimeter with rounded corners and ends square. So much for symmetry. The MLB LOGO at the very top-center is so poorly stitched that you really can't tell what is going on... it's just a blob! I have patches for the 2010 and 2012 World Series, and they're pretty nice; real nice actually.
So what happened? Budget cuts? This patch is so badly made; it's not worth it.
Sorry you guys... you really STRUCK-OUT, on this one. Yes, pun intended; but still quite serious.
- Authentic Look
- Quality Construction
- Stylish Design
- a little bit difficult to remove from plastic
This patch is really great looking. It needed some force to remove it from the hard plastic background, but once my pocket knife found a beginning it was easy. It is now sewed on my Pirates Jersey.
This product is of no use unless you plan on putting it on anything other than clothing. It is advertised as an apparel patch and then you receive the patch is clearly states - This patch is not intended to be used on clothing. It has no value to me.
- Not Functional
- Not intended to sew on clothing
Product looks great but totally worthless unless you want to stick it on as a decal.
